Melanie Hyer Remembered After Four Family Members Were Found Dead During Welfare Check In Doral Isles Home

Melanie Hyer, 46, was among four people found dead inside a home in the gated Doral Isles community in Doral, Florida, after a welfare check on Tuesday evening.

Officers went to the home near Northwest 111th Court and Northwest 72nd Terrace after a concerned family friend requested help, and they entered shortly after 7:30 p.m.

Paramedics arrived soon afterward and pronounced Melanie Hyer, Ryan Whiten, 42, Savannah Whiten, 11, and Sienna Whiten, 8, dead at the scene.

Investigators said all four had sharp-force injuries, and the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office Homicide Bureau continues to work with the Medical Examiner’s Office.

Melanie Hyer was known across South Florida as a successful real estate professional and a devoted parent who stayed deeply involved in the lives of Savannah and Sienna.

Downtown Doral Charter schools announced counseling services for students and employees as classmates, teachers, staff members, neighbors, friends, and relatives mourn the loss.

Details regarding memorial services and funeral arrangements will be announced later by family members.
